BLOOMINGTON USAC ISW ROUND RAINED OUT, BUT SEAVEY STILL INCREASES LEAD

BLOOMINGTON USAC ISW ROUND RAINED OUT, BUT SEAVEY STILL INCREASES LEAD

By: Richie Murray – USAC Media

Bloomington, Indiana (August 2, 2024)………Rain may have hampered Friday night’s round of the 37th Annual NOS Energy Drink USAC Indiana Sprint Week Presented By Honest Abe Roofing, but points were still gained during the program at Bloomington Speedway.

Per usual, each of the top-six qualifiers received points.  Fast Qualifier Carson Garrett earned six while second fastest Logan Seavey added five.  Third quickest Kevin Thomas Jr. put four points on the board and Shane Cottle bumped his point total up three for timing in fourth quickest.  C.J. Leary posted two points for qualifying fifth and Briggs Danner added one point to his tally for posting the sixth fastest time.

No heat race points were gained due to all four heat races not running to completion.  Two of the four heat races were completed.

With the five qualifying points he earned at Bloomington, Seavey increased his Indiana Sprint Week lead from 33 to 38 entering Saturday’s new penultimate round of ISW on August 3 at Haubstadt, Indiana’s Tri-State Speedway.  Friday’s Bloomington rained out event has been rescheduled for Sunday, August 4.

Seavey has won three of the five ISW races thus far.  Bacon (Broken Arrow, Okla.) and Kyle Cummins (Princeton, Ind.) have each won one.  Each of those three drivers occupies the top-three spots in the ISW standings.

Cummins resides 54 points out of the lead with two ISW events remaining.  Daison Pursley (Locust Grove, Okla.) sits fourth in the standings, 98 back from the leader.  Mitchel Moles (Raisin City, Calif.) is fifth at the moment, 100 markers back.

A maximum of 84 points are up for grabs for each driver each night throughout USAC Indiana Sprint Week.

Two events remain on the 2024 Indiana Sprint Week calendar at Tri-State Speedway on Saturday, August 3, followed by the finale at Bloomington Speedway on Sunday, August 4.
